Welcome to Aberavon Seafront!

Address

Best Western Aberavon Beach Hotel
The Princess Margaret Way
Port Talbot
SA12 6QP

For decades, Aberavon has been a vibrant playground for people from the Port Talbot area and across South West Wales. Its huge sandy beach is one of the longest in Wales, and one that frequently wins Seaside Awards from ‘Keep Britain Tidy’ to fly proudly alongside its Blue Flag. On clear days, you can enjoy views right over Swansea Bay towards the Mumbles, and across the Severn Estuary to the north Devon coastline.

The area first began drawing tourists in the 1940s, and reached its height as a ‘bucket and spade’ resort in the 1960s. Despite a downturn towards the end of the century, the early 2000s saw a boom of investment, with modern art decorating the promenade and sun worshippers coming flooding back to the area. It was during this boom time that Wales’ largest sculpture–the ‘Kitetail’–was built, weighing in at 11 tonnes and standing 36 feet high!

A contemporary promenade runs along much of the three miles of beach, which is dotted with bars, restaurants, and parks. There’s never a shortage of things to do here, with an open-air water park, a skate park, a mini golf course, a cinema, and a leisure centre.

Your home away from home

The Best Western Aberavon Beach Hotel is the largest building on the seafront, with 68 en-suite rooms and a bar and restaurant on site. We’re delighted to make the Aberavon Beach Hotel our home for the weekend.

The Best Western is now fully booked for the weekend of Aberacon. You are welcome to book a different hotel.

Ers degawdau, mae Aberafan wedi bod yn faes chwarae bywiog i bobl o ardal Port Talbot ac ar draws De-orllewin Cymru. Mae ei draeth tywodlyd enfawr yn un o’r rhai hiraf yng Nghymru, ac yn un sy’n aml yn ennill Gwobrau Glan MĂ´r o ‘Keep Britain Tidy’ i hedfan yn falch ochr yn ochr â’i Faner Las. Ar ddiwrnodau clir, gallwch fwynhau golygfeydd dros Fae Abertawe tuag at y Mwmbwls, ac ar draws Aber Hafren i arfordir gogledd Dyfnaint.

Dechreuodd yr ardal ddenu twristiaid am y tro cyntaf yn y 1940au, a chyrhaeddodd ei anterth fel cyrchfan ‘bwced a rhaw’ yn y 1960au. Er gwaethaf dirywiad tua diwedd y ganrif, gwelwyd ffyniant buddsoddiad yn y 2000au cynnar, gyda chelf fodern yn addurno’r promenâd a’r addolwyr haul yn llifo yn Ă´l i’r ardal. Yn ystod y cyfnod ffyniant hwn y cafodd cerflun mwyaf Cymru – y ‘Kitetail’ – ei adeiladu, gan bwyso i mewn ar 11 tunnell ac yn sefyll 36 troedfedd o uchder!

Mae promenâd cyfoes yn rhedeg ar hyd llawer o’r tair milltir o draeth, sy’n frith o fariau, bwytai a pharciau. Does byth prinder pethau i’w gwneud yma, gyda pharc dĹľr awyr agored, parc sglefrio, cwrs golff mini, sinema, a chanolfan hamdden.

Eich cartref oddi cartref

Y gwesty Best Western Traeth Aberafan yw’r adeilad mwyaf ar lan y mĂ´r, gyda 68 o ystafelloedd en-suite a bar a bwyty ar y safle. Rydym yn falch iawn o wneud Gwesty Traeth Aberafan ein cartref am y penwythnos.

Mae’r Best Western bellach wedi’i archebu’n llawn ar gyfer penwythnos Aberacon. Mae croeso i chi archebu gwesty gwahanol.
